How to File Your Own Tax Return
To file your personal income tax return, you can:
- Go to any postal office and pick up a Tax Package if you have not received one from your mail.
- Go to http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/formspubs/t1general/menu-e.html, select your province and print out those forms that you need.
- File online. There are software or even online filing available for a small cost. Example: QuickTax, Ufile.ca, TaxTron, etc.
Which software or web application is the best to file online?
It depends on your budget, and how skillful or knowledgeable you are in filling out the correct forms. I personally use QuickTax basic because it works very well with my Quickbook, and I have the knowledge to fill in the correct forms so I don’t really need the easy guide provide with higher version such as QuickTax Standard.
